Though Vintage refers to itself as a hostel, it lacks the loud snoring, bad smells, and overall chaotic noisiness that characterizes a youth hostel dorm. The beds are super clean, like spotless. The overall design of the place is reminiscent of a boutique hotel in Amsterdam, with sleek interiors, careful attention to detail in the lighting, and pod-sleeping that is just so comfy and cozy.
The actual 'Hostel' is lovely, everything is really well finished and the pods are so clean and comfortable. The shower cubicles are a bit tight but this wasn't a major issue. This isn't a party hostel but there were generally cool, chilled out people staying there which made the whole place feel pretty calming.
Shared room with total visual privacy, spotless clean, comfy bed, great bathroom, great location. Concept is well thought through and executed into every detail like really good Wifi and internet speed, power point (any plug will fit) in cubicle (capsule), good aircon, very welcoming atmosphere, and the manager super friendly and accommodating. Budget accommodation can be done well. This is the example of the highest standard for all others to measure up to.
The capsules themselves are spacious (can comfortably sit up) with storage space around the mattress, hooks/hangers, lights, international power sockets and built in lockers with locks. The capsule design is very sturdy with thick walls and as a result, provides more privacy and peace. Although we were in a room full of other people, conversations taking place in other capsules and snoring at night came across as no more than mere muffles
Beds are very comfortable, I am a tall guy (about 6'1 or 185cm) and I fit in my bed area perfectly comfortably. In bed area, walls are glossy so it gives a nice fresh clean feeling.
Little India or ‘Tekka’ as it is most commonly known, is an ethnic Tamil neighborhood that showcases the Indian culture, together with architecture from Colonial Singapore. Situated along Race Course road, which is famous for its myriad of north and south Indian restaurants, travelers and guests from Vintage Inn need only to step outside to be invigorated by the aroma of the various spices used in daily cooking for delicacies such as curry and tandoori.
